VALANCIUNAS SENT TO SACRAMENTO
The Sacramento Kings acquired center Jonas Valanciunas from the Washington Wizards for guard/forward Sidy Cissoko, a second-round draft pick in 2028 and a second-round draft pick 2029.
What does it give the Sacramento Kings
The Kings are uniting the Lithuanian centers here, with Valanciunas likely to become the backup to star pivot Domantas Sabonis. Although Valanciunas is turning 33 later this year, he is still an upgrade at the backup center position for Sacramento.
What does it give the Washington Wizards
For the Wizards, they get a little younger here by adding Cissoko and two future second-rounders in exchange for their backup center. When healthy, Alex Sarr should remain the starting center in Washington for a long time, while Cissoko is a raw talent.
Fantasy impact
Valanciunas is likely to dip in terms of fantasy value if he plays behind Sabonis in Sacramento. Both will need to be on the floor at the same time for this deal to help Valanciunas owners at this point. It is time to sell Valanciunas in many league formats. As for Cissoko, he is not quite ready to become a permanent rotation member, so he should only be considered in deep fantasy leagues.
