DALLAS DEALS FOR CENTER HOLMES

The Dallas Mavericks acquired center Richaun Holmes and a first-round draft pick in 2023 (No. 24 overall) from the Sacramento Kings for cash considerations.

What does it give the Dallas Mavericks
This trade gives Dallas another center option in veteran Holmes. They also were able to land intriguing forward prospect Olivier Maxence-Prosper, who has a chance to start at power forward in 2023-24 (though more players could be heading to Dallas this off-season).

What does it give the Sacramento Kings
For the Kings, this deal clears some salary from their books. Sacramento could be looking to add more talent around De'Aaron Fox, Domantas Sabonis and Keegan Murray. The Kings were also able to bring back forward Harrison Barnes in free agency.

Fantasy impact
Holmes does not have a lot of value at present time. He might become a fantasy factor if he were to win the starting center job in Dallas, but that seems like a long shot at best. Maxence-Prosper is mostly a keeper or dynasty option, although he might have a better chance at cracking the Mavericks' starting five than Holmes does.
