LUKE JACKSON TO BOSTON

The Boston Celtics acquired forward Luke Jackson and cash considerations from the Cleveland Cavaliers for Dwayne Jones.

What does it give the Boston Celtics
A talented but injury prone prospect who has the goods to eventually be a starter for the Celts. Jackson was the 10th-overall pick of the 2004 draft, so he obviously has talent. He's a gifted scorer who can create his own shot, but his tendency to get hurt might make him an ideal candidate for sixth man duties. He's also still relatively young and unproven, but if he can keep his body from breaking down he might be a nice addition to a young and talented Celtics team.

What does it give the Cleveland Cavaliers
Yet another way to clear up their crowded guard situation, and an intriguing big man in Jones. The Cavaliers aren't overrun with elite guards, but they do have too many of them on their team and Jackson just didn't do enough in his time there to warrant major consideration for playing time. They have less depth up front, so Jones is a logical addition. He has potential as a shot-blocker and rebounder, although he isn't expected to play much for Cleveland early on.
