PORTLAND, SACRAMENTO SWAP BIG MEN
The Portland Trail Blazers acquired forward/center Skal Labissiere from the Sacramento Kings for forward/center Caleb Swanigan.
What does it give the Portland Trail Blazers
Both of these players were not playing much, so hopefully they will get better opportunities in their new surroundings. Labissiere has not done much since being a first-round draft pick in 2016 out of Kentucky. He is now 22 and in need of a chance.
What does it give the Sacramento Kings
Swanigan is a tremendous athlete who can rebound the ball as well as anyone in the league, but the rest of his game needs major work. Perhaps he will get that opportunity in Sacramento, although they are even deeper in terms of big men than Portland is.
Fantasy impact
This trade is good news for both Labissiere and Swanigan, but neither should be picked up in fantasy leagues--yet.
