DOTEL TO ROCKIES
The Colorado Rockies acquired pitcher Octavio Dotel from the Los Angeles Dodgers for a player to be named later (Anthony Jackson - Nov. 16, 2010).
What does it give the Colorado Rockies
Dotel will try to help shore up the Rockies bullpen in the final weeks of the regular season. Teams don't usually make deals for help this late in the season, but Colorado is once again making a very late push for a playoff spot.
What does it give the Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers are simply happy to be rid of Dotel's contract. He was acquired to help with their playoff push, but since that hasn't panned out, they've decided to move him on to Colorado. They won't get much in return, probably a marginal prospect.
