HULETT TO BOSTON

The Boston Red Sox acquired infielder Tug Hulett from the Kansas City Royals for cash.

What does it give the Boston Red Sox
Hulett has a chance to serve an important bench role for the BoSox in 2010. He is somewhat versatile, which he will have to be if he wants to see playing time in Beantown. That's because Dustin Pedroia is entrenched as the starter at second base.

What does it give the Kansas City Royals
The Royals didn't have a lot of room for Hulett, especially after the acquisition of Chris Getz from the Chicago White Sox recently. The Royals also have Alberto Callaspo, who will likely battle Getz for the starting job at the keystone position.
