YANKS WELCOME HIRSH

The New York Yankees acquired pitcher Jason Hirsh from the Colorado Rockies for a player to be named later.

What does it give the New York Yankees
Seen as a potential ace when he was with Houston just a few years ago, Hirsh ran into some injury trouble back in 2007 and has struggled since then. He fell out of favor with the Colorado brass, but it's worth noting that this rangy righty was the Southern League (Double-A) Most Valuable Pitcher in 2005, and Pacific Coast League (Triple-A) Most Valuable Pitcher in 2006. If he can regain his form and stay healthy, Hirsh could be a major steal here for the Pinstripers.

What does it give the Colorado Rockies
The Rockies seem to just be moving on here with Hirsh, who probably needs a fresh start to get his career back on track.
