NATIONALS GET LEFTY RELIEVER RZEPCZYNSKI

The Washington Nationals acquired pitcher Marc Rzepczynski and cash from the Oakland Athletics for infielder Max Schrock.

What does it give the Washington Nationals
The Nationals had issues in their bullpen with regards to left-handed pitchers, so Rzepczynski should help them in that area down the stretch (and potentially in the playoffs in October). They also received a little cash from Oakland in the transaction.

What does it give the Oakland Athletics
The rebuilding Athletics received an interesting prospect in Schrock for a situational left-hander (Rzepczynski), so this is a solid deal for Oakland at this time. Schrock is only 21 years old and is a solid left-hand-hitting second baseman with some upside.

Fantasy impact
Rzepczynski's fantasy value, albeit limited, does get better now that he is moving to Washington. He should receive a few more holds opportunities down the stretch. As for Schrock, keep an eye on him and put him on the fantasy radar (the A's don't really have a definitive second baseman of the future at this time).
