TWINS ADD LEFTY RELIEVER COTTS

The Minnesota Twins acquired pitcher Neal Cotts from the Milwaukee Brewers for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

What does it give the Minnesota Twins
The Twins are still fighting for a Wild Card spot, so it makes sense for them to add veteran Cotts (35) at this time. With left-handed closer Glen Perkins currently injured, Cotts should help righty Kevin Jepsen hold down the fort in the late innings.

What does it give the Milwaukee Brewers
For the rebuilding Brewers, this deal is an example of what they need to do more of...since Cotts is old and not a part of the team's future. The Brew Crew may choose cash if they can't acquire a prospect from Minnesota that intrigues them.

Fantasy impact
Cotts is a situational lefty at this point in his career, though he could be a late-season source of holds while in Minnesota. He may be a decent pickup off the fantasy waiver wire.
