TORREYES LANDS IN TORONTO

The Toronto Blue Jays acquired infielder Ronald Torreyes from the Houston Astros for cash.

What does it give the Toronto Blue Jays
Predominantly a second baseman, Torreyes is a good contact hitter who might have a future as a bench player or utility infielder. After all, he's still only 22 years old. For now, he'll play every day at Double-A New Hampshire.

What does it give the Houston Astros
The Astros had designated Torreyes for assignment recently, so at least they were able to secure a future asset for him. Similar to Houston star second baseman Jose Altuve, his path to the bigs was blocked with the 'Stros.

Fantasy impact
At this point, Torreyes doesn't have much fantasy value because he doesn't hit for power and appears to be blocked at second base once more, this time behind quality rookie 2B Devon Travis with Toronto. So a wait-and-see attitude is needed here.
