A'S BRING BACK CATCHER SUZUKI

The Oakland Athletics acquired catcher Kurt Suzuki from the Washington Nationals for pitcher Dakota Bacus.

What does it give the Oakland Athletics
The A's did well to bring back a familiar face in Suzuki, since they're currently dealing with injuries to fellow catchers {P John Jaso} (concussion), {P Derek Norris} (toe) and minor leaguer {P Luke Montz}. As a result, Suzuki may see a fair amount of playing time down the stretch (or at least in a platoon with {P Stephen Vogt}) until both Jaso and Norris return. He is a very solid insurance policy.

What does it give the Washington Nationals
In Bacus, the Nationals land a right-hander who had been toiling in low Single-A ball this season. The 22-year-old has been used as both a starter and reliever in 2013, and is considered a mediocre prospect. Suzuki's departure also means more playing time for Washington catcher {P Wilson Ramos} moving forward.

Fantasy impact
Suzuki might have a bit more value down the stretch if he plays almost every day, but the likes of Jaso and Norris should be back at some point. The big winner after this trade is Ramos, who no longer has to share playing time. His fantasy value should get a significant spike.
