The Milwaukee Brewers acquired pitcher Burke Badenhop from the Tampa Bay Rays for outfielder Raul Mondesi Jr..
What does it give the Milwaukee Brewers
The Brewers needed help in their bullpen, so Badenhop should help. He's a former starter who has found his niche as a reliever. He'll likely be used in middle relief for the Brewers in 2013, though there is an opportunity for him to become a setup man (or even closer) down the line.
What does it give the Tampa Bay Rays
The Rays decided to sell high on Badenhop, after he just completed his first full season in the big leagues. Adding Mondesi is a no-risk move with a potentially big reward, though he is several years away from contending for a big-league roster spot. He has some talent, though.
Fantasy impact
Badenhop won't be on the fantasy radar unless he moves into a prominent late-inning role with the Brew Crew in 2013, which is possible (but not likely). Mondesi has keeper-league appeal, but he's still a major dark horse that isn't on the fantasy radar yet.
