The Toronto Blue Jays acquired pitcher Brian Tallet from the Cleveland Indians for pitcher Bubbie Buzachero.
What does it give the Toronto Blue Jays
Once a strong prospect with the Indians, Tallet started to struggle through injuries in 2003 and eventually had Tommy John surgery. The Jays are hoping that now that he's fully recovered from the procedure that he can be a dark-horse candidate to make an impact on their bullpen or as an emergency starter in 2006.
What does it give the Cleveland Guardians
Buzachero is a minor prospect who has had some success as a closer in the low minors. He throws hard and might have a shot at throwing a few innings out of the Cleveland bullpen by the end of the year.
