ORIOLES LAND OUTFIELD DEPTH

The Baltimore Orioles acquired outfielder Freddie Bynum from the Chicago Cubs for a player to be named later.

What does it give the Baltimore Orioles
The O's are in the market for a left-fielder and fourth outfielder and at the moment Bynum would lean more toward the latter category. He's a decent, speedy outfielder who doesn't have much power but is a solid defender at a number of positions, so he could turn into a valuable super-sub type.

What does it give the Chicago Cubs
It remains to be seen what the Cubs get here, but they didn't lose much. While they might be able to use one more outfielder, the loss of Bynum won't be felt too severely because of their solid, young bench.
