The Detroit Tigers acquired outfielder/infielder Aubrey Huff from the Baltimore Orioles for pitcher Brett Jacobson.
What does it give the Detroit Tigers
The Tigers have added a left-handed bat with some pop in Huff, who is also versatile afield. He'll likely spend time in left field, as the DH and also spell corner infielders Miguel Cabrera (1B) and Brandon Inge (3B).
What does it give the Baltimore Orioles
The O's were going nowhere with Huff, so they did the right thing by unloading him for a pitching prospect with some upside in Jacobson. Since Baltimore has several other young pitchers ahead of him, they can afford to be patient with Jacobson.
