A's ADD PURCEY
The Oakland Athletics acquired pitcher David Purcey from the Toronto Blue Jays for pitcher Danny Farquhar.
What does it give the Oakland Athletics
Purcey will pitch in middle relief for the A's. They already have several other lefty bullpen pitchers, so he'll need to find his niche quickly. He is talented but lacks consistency. Oakland is a good spot for reclamation projects, so there's hope here for Purcey to succeed.
What does it give the Toronto Blue Jays
The Jays designated Purcey for assignment, so a move was inevitable. Fortunately, there was several teams interested in him. The Jays decided to bring Farquhar back into the fold, after shipping him out to Oakland in the off-season in the Rajai Davis trade. They obviously like his arm.
