Davidson was designated for assignment by the Angels after they began acquiring other pitchers late last week. He will get a fresh start in KC. The Royals are expected to add him to their 26-man roster. In 18 games this season, he sports a 6.54 ERA with two saves.
What does it give the Los Angeles Angels
Davidson was part of a numbers game in Los Angeles that caused him to lose his spot on the Angels roster. Getting cash in return could help offset the cost for other trades. This deal was needed at this time, but it is somewhat surprising that things did not work out for him in LA.
