KIMBREL FOR POLLOCK
The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired pitcher Craig Kimbrel from the Chicago White Sox for outfielder A.J. Pollock.
What does it give the Los Angeles Dodgers
In Kimbrel, the Dodgers land a quality late-inning reliever with loads of closing experience. Blake Treinen was scheduled to replace the departed Kenley Jansen as team closer, but Kimbrel's experience in the role provides a strong alternative.
What does it give the Chicago White Sox
The White Sox have plenty of depth in the bullpen, so they could afford to part ways with Kimbrel. Adding Pollock will help a Chicago outfield that will likely be without Andrew Vaughn (injured) for the start of 2022. Pollock runs hots and cold but is a solid addition.
Fantasy impact
Both Kimbrel and Pollock have increased fantasy stock after this trade, so both should be moving up draft boards for 2022. The potential fantasy losers here are Treinen and Vaughn, though both are worth drafting in many league formats.
