SOLER SENT TO THE BRAVES
The Atlanta Braves acquired outfielder Jorge Soler from the Kansas City Royals for pitcher Kasey Kalich.
What does it give the Atlanta Braves
The Braves earlier acquired Adam Duvall from Miami, and now they add Soler. Two right-handed bats were apparently needed, but now Atlanta has a bit of a logjam in the outfield for the stretch drive.
What does it give the Kansas City Royals
Sometimes there is synergy in baseball: a team from KC added a pitcher named Kasey! The reliever prospect could get a shot with the Royals down the line. The club at least traded the slumping Soler.
Fantasy impact
It is hard to recommend Soler with the Braves, mostly because of all of their outfield options at the moment. Kalich may have some value down the road, but not now.
