DICKERSON DEALT TO PHILADELPHIA

The Philadelphia Phillies acquired outfielder Corey Dickerson from the Pittsburgh Pirates for international bonus pool money and a player to be named later.

What does it give the Philadelphia Phillies
The Phillies have been trying to plug holes in both left and center field throughout 2019, mostly because of injuries. With Jay Bruce still on the shelf, Dickerson figures to see the majority of the at-bats in left field until Bruce returns. When the latter does make it back healthy, Dickerson could find himself in a time share or he may come off the bench.

What does it give the Pittsburgh Pirates
The Pirates may not get much in return for Dickerson here, but they were able to secure a little bit more money for future international signings for a pending free agent. His departure should also mean more playing time for both Bryan Reynolds and Jason Martin (the latter is currently in the minors). The future player may not be much of a prospect, though.

Fantasy impact
Dickerson has some short-term value down the stretch, though there is still plenty of uncertainty with regards to Philadelphia's outfield situation. Buyer beware. Reynolds and Martin could be the big winners here.
