WHEELER AN ASTRO
The Houston Astros acquired pitcher Dan Wheeler from the New York Mets for minor-league outfielder Adam Seuss.
What does it give the Houston Astros
The Astros are still clinging to a slim hope of making the postseason and Wheeler is a fairly young righty who can give them some solid middle-relief innings. He's been lights-out against right-handed hitters this year, but lefties have hit him hard. If needed, he could also give the Astros some spot starts.
What does it give the New York Mets
Seuss gives the Mets little more than a minor outfield prospect. He's got youth on his side and isn't a bad hitter, but has no standout tools. If he ever reaches the majors, it will be as a fourth or fifth outfielder.
