The Baltimore Orioles acquired infielder Mark Reynolds and a player to be named later from the Arizona Diamondbacks for pitchers David Hernandez and Kam Mickolio.
What does it give the Baltimore Orioles
The O's had a hole at the hot corner, so they're hoping Reynolds can plug it successfully. He has major holes in his swing but can hit for major power and produce good numbers. He should be better in the American League.
What does it give the Arizona Diamondbacks
The D'backs are hoping to completely turn things around in their bullpen situation in 2011, which is why they acquired two potential relievers in Hernandez and Mickolio. Both are candidates to set up new closer J.J. Putz in 2011.
