The Twins have had issues in their bullpen for much of 2009, and the setup role has been a problem. Rauch will likely take over as the eighth inning pitcher in front of closer Joe Nathan, as a result.

The D'backs are going nowhere fast, so they can afford to move out one of their short relievers at this time. Rauch has struggled when given the opportunity to close so far in the bigs, so Arizona needs to move on.
